Timber Framing in Progress
A typical Timber Frame construction
A Timber Frame Property in Construction
The initial phase of the development will require planning permission, for which an archetect will have drawn up detailed plans. Once approved, Ashdown Timber Frame can interpret these plans to create the working drawings used to form the individual panels, sections, trusses, joists and other components. These plans are then assessed and approved by an independent structural engineer.

For simpler developments, this process can happily be handled in-house, although for complex developments Ashdown Timber Frame can provide the design service via an approved independent design consultancy service, which covers all aspects of the construction and capable of handling contemporary and modern constructions.

While working directly with clients, architects and other designers, we are glad to combine our significant skills and experience to produce the desired timber frames well designed, efficiently communicated and accurately costed. To avoid costly re-designs, it is best for us to be involved at the onset of the project.

We also provide an independent consultancy service which may provide an insight into whether a Timber Frame construction would be suitable for a given location, plus ways to maximise the construction benefits of choosing a timber frame property of any scale.
